GAMES IN THE PROVINCE. Waihi President's Pairs. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI. this day. A president's pairs competition, conducted under the auspices of the Waihi Bowling Club, was completed this week. The competition attracted entries from 18 teams and was played in three sections with five games each. The A section was won outright by W. McCarthy, sen., and C. Burt. with" five wins. In the B section McClung and 1.. McGonagle tied with W. McCarthy, jun.. and J. Cornthwaite. each team registering three wins. In the play-off McGonagle's team gained first honours. In the C section D. Gardiner and S. Thompson came first with four wins. In the semi-final Burt 17. beat McGonagle 14. S. Thompson taking a bye. In the final McCarthy, sen., and Burt 23, beat Gardiner and Thompson 16.
Fixtures at Hamilton. (By Telegraph.-—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON", this day. Ideal conditions prevailed for AnnlTersary Day bowling to-day. Sixteen teams, representative of Waikato and Thames clubs, played an open tournament at the Frankton preens, while a total of 18 teams, representative of all parts of the Waikato. contested an open tourney at the Hamilton Club's jrreens. Club tourneys were coilducted at Whitiora and Claudelands.
