NEW DOMINION STAMPS.
ISSUE NEXT MONTH. The reproach has been levelled at New Zealand that she has not been as loyal as she might have been, in that none of the current postage stamps bear the portrait of the reigning Sovereign.
There will be no justification, however, for such a reproach in the near future, for at the beginning of next month th<first of the two new stamps bearing the portrait of King George VI. is to be issued.
I The halfpenny fantail and the penny kiwi of the pr. >ent pictorial set are to be replaced by the new stamps, the halfpenny next month and the penny a little later in the year. The new de-ign. which ha- been produced from a photograph of Hi- M j •-tv by Dorothy Wilding, and which i- i nil.tr I ill both -tamp-, is the wo.-k <>i ~.i aiti-t i employed by .\les-r-. Bradbury. Wilkinson and Co.. Ltd.. the Kng!i-ii linn which is printing the -tamp-. The halfpenny I is. of eour-e. green in col-mr and the penny red. both being of nice shades.
