Bexley Girl will be Well Fancied

THE CAMBRIDGE TROTS.

Prospects of Gold Kip—A Review Of the Fields.

EXHIBITION RACE.

LAWN DERBY TO COMPETE.

The summer meeting of the Cambridge Trotting Club will be held at Cambridge to-morrow, and with useful fields engaged in the majority of races a fine day's sport should be provided. Particular interest will centre in the exhibition race between Lawn Derby, Nervie's Last and King's Play, and the display of unhoppled pacing by the two- liistnamed should prove one nf the highlights of the day. Betting will be on the win and place system. The Novices. There are several useful maiden pacers engaged in the opening event, the Summer Handicap. Guide Peter has proved rather disappointing during the last few months, but the class engaged on this occasion is not strong and he should be equal to pacing a tine ra<?e. Uenuku ran a close second at Claudelands, and he would only need to re|>eat the performance to take a deal of beating. Elsie Hamlyn and Isabella Pointer are improvers, while Myrtle Oro would only have to pace correctly all the way to add interest to the contest. Trauan went fair races in his two starts at Kpsom and should be all the better for the experience. Wall Street and John's Last should hold the remainder safe. A trio that, may be in demand are

UENUKU GUIDE PETER ELSIE HAMLYN.

Slow Class Trotters.

Off the front of the Farmers' Handicap Gold Kip should set the opposition a hard task, and he looks like starting a warm favourite. He ran splendid races both at Claudelands and at Epsom, and a repetition of that form should find him prominent all the way. Flash Bye is useful, while Real Red may he the best of the others on the limit. Corona Bell is speedy and will have friends, while Grand Triumph is not badly placed off 48yds. Dilfashion, the back marker, makea no appeal. The favourites may comprise

GOLD KIP CORONA BELL GRAND TRIUMPH.

A Small Field,

GOLD KIP GRAND TRIUMPH REAL RED.

The Open Mile and a Quarter.

The Recovery Handicap.

The acceptances are: —

The Chief Event. Several well-performed pacers are down to contest the Cambridge Handicap, the chief event of the day, but backers are not likely to go past Bexley Girl in looking for the favourite. This mare- was very unlucky to be beaten in her only outing at the Auckland meeting, and she is nicely placed here to make amends. Chili Bean and King Country are speedy pacers off the front of the handicap, ana as the latter will be coupled with Hearsay the bracket is likely to get plenty of support. Baron Grand is a game pacer, who appears to be coining back to his best form, while Sir Frank is a promising sort who cannot be left out of calculations. Great Chum has the task in front of him. Most support may be accorded BEXLEY GIRL KING COUNTRY — HEARSAY Bracket BARON GRAND. Middle Class Sprint. The issue in the Pukerimu Handicap appears to be dominated by Adversity, Kewpie's Queen and Nerihana, who are all on 12yds. The trio is particularly speedy over the distance and the pace is likely to be on all the way. Aerial Bell and Petite Jewel are equal to providing a surprise, while C'avan Chief's two successes at Epsom will ensure his getting plenty of support. The chief fancies may include ADVERSITY KEWPIE'S QUEEN \ NERIHANA. The Fencourt Handicap. The Fencourt Handicap Includes several pacers of unknown ability, and there is plenty of room for a surprise. Isabella Pointer is favourably placed, and she may be the public elect. Trauan should be all the better for his recent experience, and Wall Street was in a place at Claudelands last month. Frankenstein is a long way back on li 'yds, but is a- promising young pacer, an open race the bulk of the money y go oil ISABELLA POINTER WALL STREET TRAUAN.

There are only seven carded for the Visitors' Handicap, and the running in the Farmers' Handicap earlier in the day may prove a reliable guide. Gold Kip and Real Red will again have to be considered, while Grand Triumph should account for the backmarkers. Good money may be invested on

Next comes the Te Aroha Handicap, the chief sprint race of the day, and a tine contest looks certain to be provided. Chili Bean and King Country, on the limit, will ensure the pace being on all the way. while C'herrill and Hearsay are nlso partial to the distance. Baron Grand will be finishing on, while Handicapper has previously won over the journey. Hori Bingen should be the best of the others. There is room for a surprise, and the best backed may be

HEARSAYKING COUNTRY Bracket CHILI BEAN BARON GRAND.

The programme will conclude with the Recovery Handicap, and several of those engaged are down to contest earlier events. Adversity and Frankenstein will will coupled, and they form a formidable bracket. Both are speedy customers fror.i G. Mitchell's stable and the winner looks like coming from this pair. Petite Jewel and Nerihana should hold the rest safe. The favourites may be

Downes, P.O. box 248, or 'phone 47-550. IN WORK AGAIN. The latest addition to the active brigade at Ellerslie is School Song, who has been recommissioned by W. Kirk. This gelding has been operated on for respiratory trouble, and if the treatment proves successful he should pay his way in minor hack events, for he possesses a fair amount of pace. DISPLAY WAS MODERATE. At Ellerslie yesterday morning the Paper Money gelding My Money was given a. trial over a pony hurdle, but his display was not encouraging. Ho made several blunders, though he is reported to have shaped well in private on several occasions recently.
