Jhe women s section of next vear's Empire Exhibition in .Scotland will oe complementary to the main exhibition theme, namely, "to illustrate the re-.-ouret'i and potentialities of the Briti-ii Kmpire. With this idea before it. tile committee of the women V section, headed by the Countess of Elmn. has already covered more than three-quarters of the world by letter, telephone and telegram in its search for attractive exhibits. its display in Ciasgow next year will show with a wealth of detaii women's achievement, in the arts and ciafls. in domestic r-cience. in welfare work, in literature, and in manv other lieiil~ of activity in which women to-dav are taking a leading part.

Ihe r-Irikiuir modernistic Pavilion of the Women of the Empire has been divided into four sect ions—-the Empire section, the cultural section, the commercial section, and a theatre. It habeen de-igned by a woman architect. Mis, Margaret Brodie. A.H.1.8.A.

The pavilion been planned a* a rallying point for women of all nationwho attend the exhibition, and will show the kinds of handicrafts practised in homes all over the Empire, including Xew Zealand, which will also have a pavilion in Colonial Row. Every Dominion and colony will be represented through the Countrywomen's Associations and Women's Institutes.

The keynote of the women's pavilion is to lie beauty and colour. Statistic? will lie left for the rest of the exhibition. But there will lie many useful an<l practical exhibit*. such as model houses, flat-, kitchen- and laundries, a cookery class. a <1 ie t clinic and a children's corner. There will also lie exhibitions of needlework, with expert demonstrator* to instruct women who wish to emulate the great skill shown by the exhibits: and a display of the silkworm industry, which has been recently revived in Kent bv Lady Hart Dyke.

'Dip horticultural scheme of the whole exhibition has been entrusted to a committee of women, with Lady Minto at their head, and already the beautiful parkland in which the exhibition is set shows promise of the wealth of bloom and greenery with which it will be decked next summer.
