LOS ANGELES, January 5.

Sheriffs' deputies from San Gabriel are on the way to rescue a young couple reported to be roaming in the mountains like animals, nearly nude, and almost starving.

The young couple are said to be dominated by a religious fanatic, Mark Silverman, who, according to his mother, arrived at their home recently, kicked open the door and declared that the world would come to an end on Christmas Eve. He destroyed everything in the house and forced his mother, brother and sister-in-law in an automobile to a near by canyon.

The mother was released last Sunday. She told the deputies that Silverman forbade them to wear clothes and denied them most footte. They were compelled to eat nuts and heihs. The deputies have a warrant for Silverman's arrest, sworn by another sister-in-law.
