SIGHT RESTORED.

(Special.—By Air Mail.)

LONDON, December 15

Denied the mercy of chloroform. London actor Neil Carr, blind for four years, lay with gritted teeth while a Harley Street "miracle man" slit open the casing of his eye and restored his Light.

1 Gently the great doctor took the eye from its socket, slit down the centre of the iris, removed and treated the lens, and removed a cataract. A slip of a millionth of an inch would have blinded Carr for ever.

A month later the bandages were removed, and the actor, wild with delight, saw perfectly.

"Nobody knows how wonderful it is to come out of eternal darkness into light," lie said.

"For months I etaved indoors, going out only occasionally with my wife as

my guide

"Now I feel a different man. I ant just looking forward to getting the other eye done, then I shall go back to the stage."

Mr. Carr started to go blind after acting all over England and America with such well-known artists as Leslie Henson, Fay Compton, Max Miller and George Robey.
