DEFENCE POLICY.
AUSTRALIAN COMMITTEE. (Received 11.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. The Minister of Defence, Mr. H. V. Thorby, announced that the direction of major questions of defence policy in the future will be made by a standing •üb-committee of the Federal Cabinet, comprising the Prime Minister, the Minister of External Affairs, the Treasurer ajul the Minister of Defence.
