MORE HIGH SPEEDS.
ITALIAN MOTOR CYCLIST. The Italian racing motor cyclist, P. Taruffi, recently established two more world's records with his 500 c.c. supercharged four-cylinder, water cooled Gilera machine, upon which the rider is wholly enclosed in a streamlined aluminium shell. He covered five miles from a flying start at a speed of 150.125 m.p.h., and 10 miles from a standing start at an average speed of 133.19 m.p.h. The merit of these two fine achievements, which were recorded on a straightaway section of an Italian motor road, will be appreciated when it is mentioned that the previous best motor cycle speeds were respectively 120 m.p.h. and 115 m.p.h., both held by the English rider, W. Handley, who usee an F.N'.
