AMUSEMENTS.

ROXY-TIVOLI. Joe E. Brown, of the cavernous mouth, is starred in the Christmas attraction at the Rosy and Tivoli Theatres, "Riding on Air," which will have its first screenings to-morrow at both theatres. Christmas is the merriest season of them all. and a Brown picture should fulfil all the requirements of a normal theatre patron in this connection. Joe, in his latest film, brings Elmer Lane, famous smalltown newspaperman of fiction, to the screen. Elmer becomes local correspondent of a city daily and also tries to help a fellow-townsman promote the development of a 'plane that flies by radio-beam remote control. These are only a few of his activities and they all come back on him with astonishing rapidity—he gets "scooped" in a murder story; the confidence man floats a bogus company; he plots to chase some crooks in the remote-controlled "plane, and with these and other factors it is said that the story plot becomes a complicated riot of fun and entertainment with Brown at his uproarious best in the middle of it. Joe's leading lady is Florence Rice and Guy Kibbee adds to the fun.

Smith Bellew, said to be radio's greatest singing cowboy, takes the part of one of Harold Bell Wright's most_ thrillins heroes in the screen version of Wright's

"Western Gold," the co-feature. The story deals with the efforts of President, Lincoln and his Cabinet to rush gold to the East during the Civil War. The hero fßellewl—cowboy, soldier-of-fortune and trail blazer —is selected to break up a srantr who have Vieen robbing the gold coaches. His further adventures provide a thrilling story. Opposite Bellew is Heather Angel, and Leroy Mason, Ben Alexander and Otis Harlan are in the cast. AMUSEMENT GUIDE. HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. Geo. Gee in "Over She Goes."' PICTURE THEATRES.
