DAISY CHAIN CLUB.
The seventeenth fortnightly and final dance and card evening of the season was held in the club rooms recently, where a large gathering assembled. Mesdames Hogg, jun., Gough, Chalmers, ai»d Home were responsible for the pretty decorations of coloured papers, Dutch scenes, Chinese lanterns and paper hats. Lucky numbers were wod by Mrs. Hewitt and Mrs. Jack Carter, while the winners of the Monte Carlo, mock Monte Carlo and novelty Monte Carlo waltzes were Mr. Xorman "Morris and Mrs. Morris. Air. and Mrs. Arndt, Mr. iMtchell and Miss Parris, Mrs. W. Hogg and Mr. Brooks. Novelty prizes were won by Mr. J. Shadbolt, Mrs. Wells and Mr. F. Tiernev. Excellent dance music was played by Mrs. Dye and Mr. Don Robertson, while Mrs. Tiernev and Mr. Blaekie played the extras, Air Blaekie also rendering comic songs. Mr. W. Hogg proved as usual a good master of ceremonies, and 011 behalf of the social committee was made a presentation for liis appreciated services rendered through the dance season.
The 500 card tournament, organised by Mrs. Chalmers, was also well attended, the prize winners being Mrs. Chalmers, jun., and Mr. Morris Mrs. Carter and Miss I'ugill. Special prizes for the whole season were awarded to Mesdames Carter, Gremstone, Perks and Ward, and Messrs. Ramsay, Whiteman, and Hudson.
Mrs. Lord presided over a large gathering of members at the usual Friday afternoon meeting and presented gifts to the following members, who had made regular attendances through the year: Mesdames Dtiplantier, Ward, Hogg, sen., 0. Orrell, Whitenun, Wallace, Boyce. sen., F. Cooper. Lord. Ramsay, F. Wilson, Fairliurst, Barton, Morrison, Barfoot and Willew. Xovelty prizes were won bv Mesdames Goodare and Gay. Mrs. Chalmers, of the soc'al committee, organised the usual fortnightly cards and was presented with a gift" for her services through the year Hostesses for the day were Mesdames Grenfell, G. Orrell, O'Malley and Andrews.
