LONG DRY SPELL BROKEN.

HEAVY RAIN IN OTAGO. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIX, this day. Dunedin and the surrounding country districts yesterday received their first real soaking for many months, and there is every prospect of the rain continuing. The downpour was very heavy in Central Otago, and as far south as Balclutha. Although too late in coming for some parti of Otago, it will have a beneficial effect.
