STABLE AND TRACK NOTES.

A.R.C. ROYAL STAKES. Francis Drake should be included in the a i° f tnoae remaining in the A.R.C. Royal Stakes, to be run on the final day of the Auckland Racing Club's summer meeting. MOUNTS AT WOODVILLE. ■The Te Awamutu horseman C. G. Goulsbro will attend the Woodville meeting next Saturday and Monday. His mounts include Beaupartir, Buster Brown, Knightbridge, Grand City, Bluffer, Big Dook or Master Cyklon and The Crooner on the second day. VALMINT TO RESUME. After having a few weefcs on the easy list Valmint is being hacked about again and will resume regular work within the next couple of weeks. He put on a bit of condition as the result of the spell and will require a fair amount of work before he is back to his best again. Ohmahn, in the same stable, is doing well and will con-"tt-Ht hack events at the approaching meeting at Ellerslie. , IS WELL.ENGAGED. The .racing Kiltowyn had at the Takapuna meeting evidently did the bay gelding no harm, for he has been galloping attractively in his work since that meeting. He also looks an improved horse and gives every indication of being an early winner. As Kiltowyn figures in the Christmas Handicap on the first day of the Auckland meeting, the Summer Cup on the second day, the A.R.C. Handicap on the third day and the Grandstand Handicap on the final day, he will have plenty of opportunities to make good during the coining fixture at Ellerslie.

AN IMPROVED COLT. One of the most improved youngsters in work at Klleislie is Royal Abb, who has grown into a tine-looking colt. So far he has not been overtaxed, but on the few occasions that he has been tested ha has shown/a fair amount of speed. All going well. Royal Abb may make his debut at the forthcoming meeting at Klleislie. TWO CUP CANDIDATES. With Kelly and Tybalt engaged in the Auckland Cup. thfc Klleislie trainer F. Gilchrist has a useful pair of gallopers to represent him. Both horses arc doing well and promise to strip in good order for their engagement on IJoxing ]>ay. Kelly may be given a race at the Waipa meeting, where he figures in the Te Awamutu Cup and the l'aterangi Handicap. This fixture is held a week before the Klleislie carnival, ami as several Auckland Cup horses are engaged the form may prove valuable. PROSPECTS APPEAR GOOD. According to southern reports Treasurer is likely to run well if 11. Nurse dec-ides to race him in the five furlongs Trial Plate at Ilororata next Saturday. This three-year-old Paper Money- Sweet Smile gelding is a half-brolher to Cottingham, and though an entirely different type of horse is an exceptionally fast galloper for a maiden. One of the early two-year-olds put into work last aeason, he wan not aeked to race owing to the fact that his owner, Mr. Godfrey Hall, was abroad, and later he was gelded and given a good spell. The patient policy adopted with Treasurer should bring its own reward.
