ELECTRIC POWER.
SUPPLY FOR FARMERS.
NGAKURU AND GUTHRIE AREAS

Included in the Supplementary Estimates brought down in the House of Representatives is the sum of £5000 for the purpose of commencing the extension of the electric power supply to the newly-developed farming areas at Ngakuru and Guthrie. •
The estimated cost of the completed scheme is £15,000. It will serve upwards of 200 settler* and will undoubtedly greatly stimulate the progress of the two districts.
At Horohoro an extensive area of country ha# been developed under native land schemes, and the land now supports a thriving native farming community, while at Ngakuru. which was first developed by the Department of Agriculture and later taken over by individual farmers, production and settlement will undoubtedly be further accelerated by the provision of power.
