WEATHER FORECAST.

FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland province to as far south as Hamilton, Kawhia and Tauranga:— Light to moderate northerly to north-westerly winds, backing in places to west of south-west. Weather cloudy to overcast, with further rain, but improving. Temperatures mild. Seas slight to moderate. A shallow cyclone, moving from the north to the north-west, was centred west of Auckland this morning and should traverse the Cook Strait area to-day. A rather deep depression is located over the south-west Tasman Sea. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for variable and moderate breezes, westerly prevailing. Expect dull weather, with much mist and fog in parts; rain probable, but weather improving and somewhat mild. The barometer has a falling tendency. Seas rather rough to rough, but decreasing. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tirrtiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, north, moderate; sea, moderate; weather, overcast, with patches of fog; visibility, poor; barometer, falling slowly.
