ARTILLERY OFFICER.
TRAINING IN AUSTRALIA. LIEUT. JOYCE SELECTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Lieut. J. P. Joyce, Royal New Zealand Artillery, who is adjutant of the Second Field Artillery Brigade, with headquarters at Palmerston North, will attend the thirteenth Australian artillery course in Sydney from January M) to April 9 next year.
The Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, stated that the selection of Lieut. Joyce was made in continuation of the Government's policy of closer cooperation with the Australian army authorities. In view of the small number of regular artillery officers in New Zealand it was necessary that they all should be trained eventually for both field artillery and coast artillery work.
