RADIO TO EMPIRE.
British Plans for Extensive Elaboration. MORE TO NEW ZEALAND. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 28. As evidence that the use of foreign languages will not prejudice transmissions to English-speaking listeners, the 8.8.C., remarks the "Daily Telegraph," plans to develop its Empire service in the New Year.
The princi|«l change to suit listeners will he closing of the gap between transmissions, meaning uninterrupted transmissions daily to Australia, New Zealand, Africa, and the Far East, from 10.45 a.m. to 5 p.m., also longer features introducing morning sessions, :rom H.lii a.m. to Australia, New Zealand and India. It is proponed to reflect life in the Dominions and colonies with monthly programmes oiiginating overseas, which will be nebroadcast throughout the Empire.
