WELSH SOCIETY.
SEASON'S FINAL MEETING.
On Saturday night the Welsh Society held its final meeting of the year at the Overseas League rooms, Queen Arcade. The president, Mr. T. E. Price, welcomed many visitors, among whom were Mr. Kinley, of the City of Glasgow, Mr. and Mrs. Unsworth, Ngongotaha, and Mr. Dunn, a native of Aberporth, Wales. He also read a letter which had been received from one of the members, Nurse Megan Wynne, of Auckland, who is on a visit to the Old Country. During her travels she visited a Welsh concert in Liverpool, when they gave her a great welcome and wished her to convey their felicitations to the Welsh people of New Zealand.
During the first part of the evening the members and friends were entertained with a musical programme which included songs by Miss Mitchell and a Welsh duet (arranged by Miss Lilian, Braithwaite) by Miss Mona Kinley and Miss Margaret Hansen. Games followed in the way of competitions sponsored by Mr. A. J. Norman. After supper was served a one-act play was given by Mr. Fred Fullbrook and Mr. Bill Barrett, assisted by Miss L. Porter. The accompanists were Miss Lilian Braithwaite and Miss Simich.
