METHODIST SYNOD.
SESSIONS IN AUCKLAND.
CANDIDATES EXAMINED.
A* a preliminary to the annual Synod of the Auckland Methodist district a ministerial session was held thie morning in the Pitt Street Church. The Synod will be officially opened to-mor-row morning. Thie morning's session was presided over by Rev. E. D. Patchett with Rev. F. J. Parker acting as secretary.
Several probationer* were examined. Rev. A. K. Johnston passed hie final examination and was recommended to be ordained at next year's conference. Messrs. I. K. Hopper and A. R. Witheford passed in their second year's probation. F
Thw afternoon several candidates for the ministry came before the session for vocal examination. The results will be reported to the general conference.
This evening the annual Synod social will be held in the Pitt Street schoolroom.
The official opening of Synod to-mor-row will be preceded by the service of Holy Communion at 9.30 a.m. The inaugural address by the chairman of the district will follow, and the sessions will continue on Thursday aad Friday.
