MARIPOSA HELD UP.
FOUR MEN LEFT BEHIND.
SYDNEY, November 12
The liner Mariposa sailed from Sydney for Auckland at 12.15 p.m. to-day with four of the original crew missing. These comprised three junior engineers and a galley hand.
Two substitute engineers were engaged at the last minute. The galley hand had obtained permission to marry and remain in Australia.
The engineers were involved in a dispute on the south bound voyage from" San Francisco. They wanted permission to take meals in the mess room with the unlicensed engineers instead of in the saloon, but the master. Captain W. Mej'er, was unable to acquiesce.
The Mariposa was delayed for only 20 minutes.
