BUSINESS MEN PLEASED.
TRADE WITH AUSTRALIA.
(From Our Correspondent.)
CHRISTCHURCH, Friday
The statement T>y the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, that the New Zealand Government intended to take the initiative in having revised the trade agreement between Australia and New Zealand was well received by Australian business men, according to Mr. W. S. Newburgh, a Christchurch stockbroker, who has just returned from a visit to Australia. A very keen desire existed among Australian business men, Mr. Newburgh said, to increase both their export and import trade.
The country areas in Australia were in excellent condition and Australian pastoralists were in very good heart in anticipation of a good season.
Business men throughout Australia reported that they were having an excellent year, Mr. Newburgh said, and the inquiries he had made of manufacturers showed that factories were working at full pressure.
