THE LONDON MARKET. CHILLED BEEF IMPROVES. LIGHTWEIGHT MUTTON FIRM. The tendency of the lamb market at Smith field is steady, with prices unchanged, states the weekly report of the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board. Old season's stocks should be exhausted when new season's arrive. Wethers.—Heavy-weights slightly easier ; all others firm with better trade. Ewes: Demand has improved, with prices better. Frozen Beef.—Fores firmer, hindquarters unchanged. Chilled beef prices better this week owing to cold weather. Porker Pigs.—Consumption is improving with little change in prices. Baconer pigs: Demand slow with prices easier.
