DEPLETION OF SUPPLIES.
TOURIST HOTEL LICENSES. (By Telegraph.—Press Associntion.) WELLINGTON', Tuesday. The vote of £355,500 for the Department* of Industrie* and Commerce and Tourist and Publicity was discussed during consideration of the Estimates this evening. The Minister of Industries and Commerce. Mr. Sullivan, referring to the Fisheries Comnii«»ion, said it had been engaged in an inquiry into the depletion of supplies in our fishing ground*. It had examined hundred* of witnesses and he wished to congratulate it on the fine work it had already accomplished. Mr. R. McKean (Government, Wellington South) defended New Zealand publicity oversea*, stating that our publications in thi« connection compared more than favourably with those of other countries Mr. W. J. Broadfoot (National, Waitomo) asked if the Clin tea u Tongariro was now in a better financial position.
