NO MYSTERY VISIT.
FALSE EUROPEAN RUMOURS. British Official Wireless. (Received 2 p.m.) RUGBY, November 4. Reports, which have been given much prominence in the Press of more than one European country, of an impending visit to Hungary by the Perir.anent Foreign Under-Secretary, Sir Robert Vansittart, are without foundation. Various theories as to political moves and developments of special significance, which have been based on these report®, are also devoid of ~.ruth.
Xo such visit Ims been conteniplated. A possible explanation of tile rumours is that Captain Guy Vansittart will shortly go to Hungary, which he has visited on numerous occasions ir the past, for shooting. He never h-i(. any part in politics or any connection with diplomacy. It is apparently on this flimsy fotindation that an elaborate struc'nre of false deductions lias been built up. and, in London, it is felt that there is an obvious moral. T>:e already difficult •situation which confront.- the statesmen of Kurope is not impro ed and at any moment might be made dangerously worse by publication of scn-o tional speculations based on unverified rtt nour.
