PRICE TOO HIGH?
STOCK DISEASE REMEDIES. (From Oar Correspondent.) PALMERSTOX NORTH, Thursday. A claim that though the Department of Agriculture had passed many stock disease remedies tinder the Stock Remedies Act, quite a large number were quite ineffective as remedies was made at a meeting o* the Farmers' Union. The union decided that the Government l>e asked rigorously to enforce the provisions of the Act before the sale of any remedy is permitted, and that the cost of remedies be consistent with the ingredients and the cost of preparation. Mr. Balmer said that exorbitant prices were being charged for material costing only a few pence. Apart from that, he was quite certain that many of the socalled remedies were of no use whatever. Each remedy should be tested by the Department - before it was approved.
