PRIMARY CHAMPIONS.
TROPHIES FOR GRAFTON
A pleasing function was held yesterday afternoon at Grafton School, to mark the meritorious record achieved by the junior and senior Soccer football teams this season. Mr. C. J. Edwards presided over a representative gathering of parents, teachers and boys. The hall was beautifully decorated with the school's colouiw, black and white. A "sit-down" banquet was provided by the school committee. Mr. L. J. Check, secretary-treasurer of the junior management committee of the Auckland Football Association, owing to the unavoidable absence of the chairman of the Control Board. Mr. Leo Munro, presented the trophies, comprising the Robinson Shield, Keason Cup and Hibbert Cup. to the captains of the respective teams. Mr. Check congratulated the school on its record this season, and paid a tribute to the sterling services to the code rendered by the headmaster, Mr. Andrews, and the coach and manager of the successful teams. Mr. A. E. Manning.
In reply Mr. Andrews thanked the Auckland Football Association for its kindly interest and untiring efforts on behalf of school football. The chairman, Mr. Edwards, and Mr. A. E. Manning supported Mr. Andrews' remarks, and a very successful function concluded by the boys calling for three cheers for the headmaster. Mr. Andrews. Mr. Manning, Mr. Edwards and Mr. Check.
