Tlir> Minister of Mines, Mr. Webb, describing in highly - enthusiastic lnnynarjro the achievements of the Government, astonished fellow members in ♦ho House of Representatives this afternoon by declaring, "We want 20,000 builders of public houses." Reminded of his slip by the laughter, Mr. Webb explained that he was referrin tf to the housing programme, but he roii|is e d that members would laugh when he mentioned public houses, though "fter nil, the day was not far distant w 'ien public houses as they knew them to-day would have to be rebuilt if they were to rotuin their licenses.
