ON DESTROYERS.
SUBMARINE ATTACK.
British Warships Engaged Off
Spanish Coast.
DEPTH CHARGES DROPPED. United Press Association. —Copyright. (Received 1.30 p.m.) VALENCIA, October 4. An official announcement states that two British destroyers were attacked by a submarine off Cape San Antonio.
A coastguard heard three explosions and saw the destroyers turn about and drop depth charges. Soou five more destroyers and two flying boats appeared and joined in the search.
Watchers on shore at 3.35 p.m. saw a column of smoke near one group of destroyers.
An attack was made on the British destroyer Havock in practically the fame locality, between Alicante and Valencia, on the night of August 31, and depth charges were dropped with indeterminate results.
