CLUTHA DREDGE'S RECORD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.* DUNEniN. Monday. The Clutha River Gold Dreilgins Company. I/imited, reports that for the week ended October 1 the dredpe worked 120 hours and recovered 4330 i! of jrold. This is the highest return to date, the previous best beiiiff SSOoz for 133 hours on August liO. For tlif» five months th'nt the rtrertjje has been operating it has now won 40C0oz of gold.

OKARITO DREDGE REFLOATED. The Okarlro dredge (South Wesrland). which sank Inst week, has been refloated and is now being put in order for the resumption of work. This will probably mean n delay of two weeks, (is it is intended to plate the pontoons so as to avoid a repetition of the accident.

Centre stope: In the south end i have taken out 12ft of stone at an average i width of 3ft 6in and have partly filled the stope. North drive: Advanced 10ft into very hard quartzite. Ciime back 12ft from face and started driving north-east on u small stringer, and within 3ft struck stone over 3ft wide on bottom, with water making freely. A small sample secured showed n little fine gold. Country here appears to be more settled than where we first struck stone In this drive and two pood wnlls are showing. A total of 77J tons of stone was delivered to surface bins. RETURNS OF COMPANIES. Marnki (Murehison).—l.ast week, 230z from fiSOOyds in 107 hours. Whites Electric (West Coast). —320z in i 128 hours.
