NEARLY DESTROYED AS A FOAL.— Sir Regent, the winner of the Metropolitan Handicap at Randwick yesterday, i> stated to have been ■uch a mean little fellow as a foal that he was nearly destroyed. It was decided to give him a chance and he has developed into one of the gamest little horses that has ever won this event.
