(By Tolotfrnph.—Own Correspondent.) PUKEKOHE, Monday. Tlio soqtiol to an accident in King Street, Pukokohe, on September 11, was hoard in tho Pukekoho Court to-day before Mr. F. 11. Lev ion, S.M., when several charges wero preferred against ii g'lrngo proprietor, Leslie Gordon Midfllomlss and a stoieman, Jack Waters. Mlddlemliw was charged with failing to kcop ii, rngUter of motor vehicles hired out. and also with giving delivery of a nmtor car on hire to Jack Waters before ln»|iprtlng his driving license. Waters wii« rluirgod with negligent driving, -< ith having no driver's license, and with failin,., to glvo the name and address of the owner of (lie cur upon demand by a police cmuimlal>lt>. Constable llauna said that following mi accident ho Interviewed Water*. Wittier nski'd him for his driver's license, lint, was told It whs t>t. home. MlddlomUs explained that ho knew Water* whom ho thought was a motor I driver for a transport company. Ho did not kuep a register of i nir* hired out m ho did not know it whs necessary. On tho first charge, Middlemiss was lined £1 and oosts 10/, und on the second £1 and 13/ costs. Waters was fined i'l and costs ltt/ on tho first charge, iil and 10/ costs on tho second, and £1 10/ and costs 10/ on the third.
