GERMANS' DAY.
MOTOR RACE IN BRITAIN. (Kecedved 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, October 3. At Donington Park, where hundreds of German officers were interned during the Great War, German motorists competing, for the first time against British motorists, triumphed in an international grand prix of 250 miles. Five out of seven racing cars which Herr Hitler had ordered to go all out to win, finished. The British and Italian competitors were flagged out as they failed to complete the distance within the time limit. Rosemeyer, driving an Auto Union, won in 181 minutes. Several bookmakers absconded and Germans backing their countrymen were defrauded of £50. An aeroplane containing two men and a woman, flying to Donington Park, crashed in flames. All were incinerated.
