Explorer Who Came Out of the Wilderness. "IS THERE WAB ANYWHERE 7" (Received 12.30 p.m.) ' SRINAGAR, October 3. Dr. Wilhelm Filchner, German explorer, who was imprisoned in Chinese Turkestan for nine months, has arrived here, clad in rags. He was dazed to learn that he had been selected by the ficrman Government as recipient of a C.") 000 national prize to replace the annual Nobel Prizes. Dr. Filchner was accompanied by his companion in adventure, Dr. Haack. "In there a war anywhere ?" and "How are my daughters ?"• were, the first questions Dr. Filchner asked on arrival.
