WHERE WILL IT END?

The following was taken from one of our local newspapers: "In 1892-3 the taxation was £3.4 per head; for the years 1937-8 it is £22.4 per head." Political parties for the last 45 years have tried their hand at governing the country, with the above results. What a blot on so-called civilisation. Isn't it time the people of this country woke up to the fact that their politicians have failed them and that the Bible (eo sadly neglected by our modern world) has a system of government and taxation laid down for world guidance which has never been tested for thousands of years because man in his wisdom thought he know better than his Creator. Just think this out: Select a number of men (70 was the original number) of mature age, sound judgment and strict morals, without any political odour or colour, tell them their job is to govern wisely and well—not- for capitalist, farming, labour, manufacturing or any other, one interest, but for the benefit of the whole nation. What a row you would make amongst the pampered and petted parties, but what a foundation you would build towards that which we all desire—a satisfied and happy community. Taxation is provided for by tithing, never yet tried nor advocated by our modern so-called economists. I hope this subject will be debated by more able wj-iters, CYMRY.
