Annett (Taldhurst) .. 1 C. Wood (Christchurch) .... 2 I. A. Thomson (Timaru) 3 Fastest time.—W. J. Lamberton (Lincoln), 6h 24m 57 l-ss; second fastest, L. G. Fleming, l-5s slower. P. J. GROSE ANOTHER VICTORY. (By Telegraph. — Press association.) DUNEDIN, Sunday. The South Island amateur road cycling championship, held yesterday afternoon over a course from Green Island to Milton and return, a distance of a little over 62 miles, was won by F. J- Grose, present Canterbury champion, whose tine was 2h 42m 375. Second and third places were filled respectively by A. Lancaster and I. Taylor, also of the Papanul Club, Christchurch. A field, of 40 riders faced the starter. The three placed men were prominent throughout. Grose beat his clubmate by half a length, Taylor finishing a 'minute behind the leaders. The race was held in brilliant sunshine and created a great deal of interest. The teams' race was won by Papanui and a sealed handicap by J. F. Connell (Dunedin). Fastest time for competitors under 18 was recorded by A. Thomson (Christchurch), whose time was 2h 46m 575.
