UNHOPPLED MILE.
NERVIE'S LAST MAKES RECORD. Assisted by two pacemakers at different stages the Australian-bred Xervie's Last, at the matinee meeting held by the Auckland Owners, Breeders and Trainers' Association at Alexandra Park on Saturday established a mile record for an unhoppled pacer in the Dominion by recording 2.4 2-5. Xervie's Last was driven by his trainer, F. J. Smith. He paced the first half-mile in 1.1 2-5, and the final quarter in 30s.
