MODEL YACHTING.
PONSONBY CLUB FINALS. The Ponsonby Model Yacht Club held their final races of the winter series in St. Mary's Bay yesterday afternoon. There was a steady breeze from the north-west, giving ideal sailing conditions, and several close finishes were witnessed. In the first race, Rhythm beat Billy Boy in by ss, and in the second race 8s separated the three placed boats, while a second only lay between two competitors In the third race. In each event the handicaps were allowed at the etart. Race I.—Rhythm, T. Brown (lm 30s), 2h 20m 30s, 1 ; Billy Boy, B. Ewen, 2h 20m 355, 2; Lyric, M. McLean (2m), 2h 20m 475, 3. Race 2.—Flying Cloud, N. Buckland (30s), 3h 21m, 1; Billy Boy, E. Ewen (scr), 3h 21m ss. 2; Rhythm, T. Brown (scr), 3h 21m Bs, 3. | Race 3.—Billy Boy, E. Ewen (scr), 4h 22m 20s, 1; Flying Cloud, N. Buckland (scr), 4h 22m 255, 2; Lark, H. Erickson (2m), 4h 22m 265, 3. Challenge Race. —Lark, H. Erickson (2m 30s), 1; Billy Boy, T. Brown (scr), oh 26m 265, 2; Jewel T. Ambrldge (lm), 5h 26m 275, 3. There will now be a break of about a month, after which the new season's races will Btart. Opening day and the full programme for the season will be decided on' Wednesday. Racing officials were Messrs. Q. Broun, W. T. Matthews and W. Everett.
