LOADING STARTS.
JAPANESE STEAMER. SAILING FOR WELLINGTON. NO WOOL, TALLOW OR SCRAP. After a delay of two days and a half, during which the ship has lain idle at the King's wharf, waterside workers began loading cargo for Japan this morning on the Y.K.K. Line steamer Chifuku Mam. The men stopped work after unloading cargo at noon on Wednesday, and prospects yesterday of a recommencement appeared more unlikely than on Thursday. A settlement was efleeted this morning, however, and work began at eight o'clock. The men stipulated that they would not loud any materials which might be used in the manufacture of munitions. These commodities included wool, tallow and scrap iron. The Auckland agents for the vessel now anticipate that siie will sail for Wellington at o p.m. to-day. Although her full quota of cargo for Auckland has been unloaded, the Chifuku Maru has still large quantities of sulphur to discharge at Wanganui and Lyttelton.
