Hi« object in entering the field, he tells us, is to interpret Jesus from a different angle from the others. What that angle is he describes as "tho economic arid political background of His time." In the light of this background, to whicli ho gives a considerable amount of space, he sets himself "to keep tho balance between His (Jesus') plan for world liberation arid His intimat© dealings with the individuals with whom He came in contact."
