WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland province to as far south as Hamilton, Kawhia and Tauranga. Light to moderate northerly winds, later freshening somewhat. Weather fine at first, but cloud increasing and unsettled conditions and some rain probable within 24 hours. Temperatures mild. Seas slight to moderate. An anti-cyclone of moderate intensity is centred to the north of New Zealand, while a shallow cyclonic depression is located over the southwest Tasman Sea. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate northerly winds, later freshening somewhat. There is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather, but after about 36 hours weather clouding over and rain later and milder. Barometer little movement. Seas smooth to moderate. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Guif was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, southerly airs; sea, smooth; weather, fine and clear; visibility, fair; barometer, steady.
