REQUEST RESENTED.
SPECIAL RETAIL DISCOUNTS. PUBLIC SERVANTS' CIRCULAR. iFrom Our Correspondent.) GREYMOUTH, Friday. Claiming to represent some 500 purchasers, the Grevmouth District Public Servants' Cash Purchase Association has circularised business houses in Greymouth requesting special discounts on all purchases. The circular states that a representative of the association will cell on all who have received a circular in the course of a week, and favourable consideration is asked. Business firms approached state that they resent the request, and contend that many public servants are better able to pay full retail prices than most workers. The general tenor of the remarks of business people indicates that the request will be flatly declined by practically all of _ them.
