FIVE WEIGHTS TO WELLINGTON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. Scientific-,, virile mat craft distinguished the contests for the New Zealand amateur wrestling championships held at the Wellington Town Hall to-day. Wellington representatives won five of the seven weights. The eliminatory rounds occupied all the morning and afternoon. The finals were held as preliminaries for to-night's professional match. The contests were refereed by Mr. J. Creek. The results of the finals are as follows:— Bantam-weight: L. Nolan (Wellington), 8.7%, beat S. Todd (Canterbury), 8.9, by two falls. Feather-weight: J. F. Genet (Canterbury), 9.5, beat W. Balderstone (West Coast). 8.13, bv two falls. Lightweight: V. Thomas (Wellington)/ 9.12, beat J. A. Mclnnes (Canterbury),.9.l2%, on points. Welter-weight: J. Podgursky (West Coast, North Island), 10.10%, beat H. Wilson (Canterbury), 10.11, pn points. Middle-weight: H. R. Godfrey (Wellington), 12.12, beat P. Razos (Hawke's Bay), 11.7%, on points. Light-heavy-weight: T. Anderson (Wellington), 13.2, beat C. Pass-i more (Auckland), 13.3, on points. Heavy-, weight: J. H. Dryden (Wellington), 17.0,1 beat B. Norton (Auckland), 13.9%, on i points. I In the preliminaries results of interest I to Aucklandere were:— Feather-weight.—.Jones (Auckland) beat Frampton (Southland), straight falls. There is no record of how Jones was eliminated before Genet beat Balderstone. Welter-weight. — Wilson (Canterbury) | beat Nichol (Auckland), straight falls. I Lightweight.—J. A.
