POWER EXTENSION PLAN.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, Wednesday. A well-attended meeting of settlers yesterday was addressed by Mr. J. Price, chairman, and Mr. J. McCormick, area member of the Thames Valley Power Board, and Mr. R. S. Hetherington, president of the Thames Chamber of Commerce, on the subject of installing electricity along the Thames Coast Road as far as Temata. After hearing an explanation from the chairman regarding the guarantee required, a large number of settlere signed the guarantee. It was decided that a further canvass by the board's officials be undertaken. It is not anticipated that any difficulty will be experienced in securing the required guarantee. It is hoped that the reticulation will be ready by Christmas 1938.
