SOCIETY'S GOOD YEAR. BUTTERFAT COMPETITION. The Kumeu District Agricultural and Horticultural Society's annual meeting in the Kumeu Hall was well attended, Mr. W. X. Coughlan presiding. I Mr. Coughlan drew attention to the (society's sound financial position, the balance-sheet showing a credit balance of £23 for the year. He thanked the committee and all those members who had assisted in making the show such an outstanding success, while a special vote of thanks was accorded the ladies' comj mittee. ' It was announced that Mr. Frank Kinlocli and Mr. F. Nixon bad been appointed life members. The result of the butterfat competition for the highest production in the Kumeu herd testing group was also announced, the winner being the Pittinger Trust Company's Rita, a grade Jersey, which produced 6271b of butterfat in 300 days, thus winning the Glasgow Cup. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr. W. N. Coughlan; vicepresidents. Messrs. R. P. Dane, W. Malins and W. Lesley; secretary. Mr. W. B. Patterson: treasurer, Mr. W. H. Malins; auditors.
