EPSOM TRIALS.

WORK OV GRASS. -4 MUNGA TANGI PLEASES. The grass track, with .the. poles 40ft out, ■was available for last work at Epsom this morning and the going was in good order. Several useful efforts were recorded, those to please most being Munga Tangi, Lucky Love, Kewpie's Crest and Auto Machine. Kewpie's Crest, Munga Tangi, Youug Rodney and Lucky Love- went away in. that order from the mile and a half poet, reaching the mile in 2.32. Kewpie's Crest and Lucky Love were together at the home turn, but Munga Tangi finished impressively to shade his companions in 3.41, the last half mile in 1.9. This pacer is particularly well and holds bright prospects for his engagement on Saturday. Kewpie's-Crest paced with plenty of-dash to register 3.41 4-5, while Lucky Love, whii recorded 3.41 2-5, also went well. Young Rodney broke badly after going six furlongs and took 3.48. The novice Hillcrest shaped well over a mile in 2.25 2-5, the last half mile occupying 1.11 2-5. It was a good D. Jones' other charge Mandalay traversed a mile in 2.31, the last half mile in 1.11. Great Chum and Marble Boy jumped away 3s in front of Auto Machine in ®n essay over a mile and a half, but the firstnamed broke early and was soon in the rear. There was nothing between Marble Boy and Auto Machine as they reached the mile in 2.46, but in a good finish the former won by a head in 3.55, the last half mile being run in 1.9. This novice is improving with every work-out. Auto Machine hung on well under pressure and recorded 3.53 1-5, the final half mile taking 1.9.* Argolis infused plenty of dash while working over a mile and a half in' 3.52, the last half mile in 1.10. He did his ■work well. Charter Is Bay Paces Well. Atarau King and Gold Kip were associated over a mile and a half, but both horses, broke. at various stages and there was nothing between them at the end in 3.54. Vanora, Jewel Crest and Worthy Quest were in that order at the conclusion of a mile and a quarter in 3.11. Vanora stayed on solidly to run his last half mile in 1.10, while Jewel Crest showed plenty of dash to record 1.10 for this section. *■' V-'. , V.-r Queenie Direct, wbo was unhoppled, went away. 2s in front of Petite Jewel from the mile'and a half disc, but there was no speed on at any stage and Petite Jewel finished, on to register 4.1, the last half mile in 1.15. The trotters Pink Lady and Pirate's Last were together at. the vend of a mile and a half, the last mile and a quarter occupying 3.9, the last half mile in 1.12 3-5. Both horses worked satisfactorily. T , ( After going a quarter of a mile Charteris Bay was joined . by- Kaitawa and Kewpie's Bingen at the mile and a quarter post. Over the last bit"£Jharteris Bay and Kewpie's Bingen drew away from Kaitawa and in a good finish Bay won by half a length, covering the mile and a half in 3.48 4-5.. and the final four furlongs in 1.11. He was staying on well. Kewpie's-Bingen paced with plenty of dash to run the mile and a nuarter in 3.4, while Kaitawa took 3.6 2-5. On the dirt track. Star Pronto was timed to run the last mile of liis work in 2.13, the final four furlongs taking 1.7 1-5.
