Lapham, of San Francisco, president of the American-Hawaiian Steam Ship Company, Ltd., left by the Monterey yesterday on his return to the United States. Mr. A. G. Hultquist, UP. for Bay of Plenty, and Mrs. Hultqnist, arrived in Auckland by car yesterday afternoon. Mr. Hultquist left for Wellington by the afternoon express to-dav, and will return to Auckland on Thursday. He] will return to Whakatane on Friday. Mr. T. A. Blyth, headmaster of the Ohakune District High School, returned to New Zealand by the Monterey yesterday. In the course of an extensive : tour, Mr. Blyth witnessed the Coronation procession and naval review, and travelled extensively in Great Britain ' and Europe. * • Mr. Gavin Allan, of Toronto, a mem- ! ber of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, is travelling by the , Niagara to Sydney, accompanied by Mrs. Allan. He will carry out an : extensive lecturing tour in Australia • under the auspices of the various churches of the denomination, and will - return to Auckland at the beginning of November to give a series of lectures in New Zealand, later returning to Canada. Mr. H. P. Bennett, chief engineer of the Tasmawan Government Railways, arrived in Auckland by the Limited express from Wellington this morning and is at the Grand Hotel. Accompanied by Mr. P. R. Angus, locomotive superintendent of the New Zealand Railways, he has been touring the Dominion for the purpose of studying engineering advances made in the railways here. He will sail for Sydney by the Niagara to-night, en route to Tasmania.
