A BRILLIANT FUNCTION
The ladies' committee of the Auckland Rugby League held their third I dance of the season at the Peter Pan ' last evening, the gueste of the evening ) being the Australian touring team. At , midnight *& presentation was made to j Mr. Ernie Norman, the popular back of ! the Kangaroos, who celebrated his I twenty-ninth birthday. This was received j with great enthusiasm. The guests were received by Mrs. Ivan j Culpan, wife of the secretary, who was j wearing a charming frock of delphinium j blue cloque and a gold wrap. The other j members of the committee were: Mrs. F. Thompson, in Burgundy crepe and ecru lace; Mrs. I. Stonex, black taffeta; Mrs. R. Doble, patou pink chiffon velvet; Mrs. T. Chermside, scarlet taffeta; Mrs. A. Scott, black chiffon and striped taffeta bolero. Among those present were: Mrs. S. Pierce (Sydney), who was wearing gold lame; Mrs. J. Redwood (wife of the New Zealand president), old rose and gold lame; Mrs. W. G. Carlaw, Paris j green crepe de chine; Mrs. George; Nepia, black cloque, studded sequins; \ Mrs. E. Asher, black Chantilly; Mrs. F.I Tottey (Sydney), black taffeta; Mrs. E. : Stallworthy, black Chantilly lace; Mrs. J. W. Probert, coronation red; Mrs. W. J. Taylor, floral georgette.
