ROTARY CLUB.
ANOTHER YEAR COMMENCED. NEW OFFICERS INSTALLED. The inaugural meeting of the Auckland Rotary Club for its new season was held last evening in Milne and Choyce's reception hall. Placing the chain of office on the new president, Mr. H. T. Thomas, and welcoming the new directors. Mr. Henry expressed the opinion that the club might rest assured that its affairs would be in capable hands. Mr. Thomas spoke appreciatively of Mr. Henry's services and presented him with the badge of past-president. "There is nothing spectacular about Rotary/' said Mr. Thomas. "The picture of going into action with drums beating is very attractive, but quite unsound, and out of keeping with the real ideals of Rotary, in which T have much faith and confidence. Rotary has already done great work, and it will go on gathering power and expanding with experience to a-eomplish greater things." Members attended the Tudor Cinema after dinner, at the invitation of Mr. Phil Hayward. Tt was announced that the annual church service would be held on Sunday evening at St. Mary's Cathedral.
