AMUSEMENTS.

ROXY-TIVOLI Featuring Brian Donlevy and Frances Drake, Twentieth Century-Fox's "Midnight Taxi" will be shown at the Rosy and Tivoli Theatres' to-morrow. The film is based on a story by Borden Chase, and deals with the efforts of American secret service men to bring to justice a desperate gang which is flooding the country with bogus money. Many clever methods used to ensnare gangsters are revealed in this splendid action melodrama. Donlevy, as the chief of the secret service men, is sworn to bring to justice the lawbreakers; but when he meets their lovely queen, Frances Drake, the pair suddenly fall in love. Exciting moments then succeed each other in quick succession. It is said that the romantic interest has been skilfully woven into the story, with the result that the film is satisfying entertainment. Donlevy is said to give a particularly virile performance, while in addition to Fmnees Drake, Alan Dinehart, Sig Rumann and Gilbert Roland have important supporting roles. Film patrons will be interested to know that the producer, Darryl F. Zanuck, gave the son of ; the famous Lon Chaney his first '"break" in this film. Lon Chaney, jun., as he is called, has a 6mall part. As a supporting feature "Hills of Old Wyoming," an adaptation to the screen of one of Clarence E. Mulford's stories, will be ehown. William Boyd has the leading role in this red-blooded Western picture! PRINCE EDWARD THEATRE. Notable for the remarkably fine acting of Robert Montgomery, the modern comedy, "Forsaking All Others," will be shown to-night at the Prince Edward Theatre. Fast-moving and sophisticated, this comedy is studded with witty and humorous dialogue. Clark Gable, one of the most popular male leads on the screen to-day, is also featured. With his accustomed aplomb and careless insouciance, Gable has a host of admirers who enjoy every picture in which he appears. In this film he gives his usual high-class performance. Joan Crawford, glamorous star of "Gorgeous Hussy," and many other box-office successes, has another important part. Miss Crawford has been one of the stars in motion pictures for many years now, and her acting ability in all kinds of parts is well known. However, in this film she is even more suited than usual by the part she playe. Others in supporting roles are Rosalind Russell and Billie Burke. For all who appreciate the modern sophisticated comedy this film should have definite appeal. As an additional attraction "Diamond Jim," starring Edward Arnold, Jean Arthur, the husky-voiced, beautiful star of "Adventure in Manhattan," and Binnie Barnes will be shown.
