WINTER YACHTING.
ROYAL AKARANA'S DINGHIES. - Tbe Royal Akarana Yacht Club held a race on Saturday, the third of the winter series of sailing events for dinghies under lift. The race started off the clubhouse at 2.55 p.m., the entries and handicaps being: Pal scr, Aloha 30s, Scram 4m, Red Rover 7m and Tini llm. The wind was light easterly and ebb tide, the course being round the compass dolphin, round Resolution buoy and round mark at starting line, twice round. The start wan a good one. all five crossing in close order. All stood off shore on starboard tack for the dolphin. Pal going out ahead. She did not hold as high as Aloha. Scram and Red Rover, but wns sailing faster and rounded the mark 35s chead of Scram, Aloha, Red Rover and Tini following in this order. Pal held her advantage at the second mark and run in on n strnight course, the iirst round being timed : I'nl. 3h 17m 50s : Aloha. 3h •Mm 0-s ; Scram. 3h 20m 8s ; Red Rover. 31> 25iu 10s; Tini, 3h 35m os.
