FIVE O'CLOCK PARTY HELD.
The anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence, which fell on Sunday, was celebrated yeeterday evening when Mr. J. C. Groeninger, the Consul for the United States of America, entertained members of the consular corps in Auckland and many other representative citizens at his flat in O'Rorke Street. The party commenced at five o'clock, when cocktails, sherry and savouries were served to the guests.
